Abstract

Passion is a strong desire in a person to do activities that he likes. Knowledge of passion in every person, needs to be understood seriously, so that person can find meaning in his life. When a person carries out his work or activity according to his passion, that person will feel a great urge to keep trying and work better. Thus, it is important for everyone to understand this, especially for students who are planning their future careers. This seminar on “Understanding the Importance of Passion in Life” was given to students and parents of SMP and SMA X in Jakarta. The aim of this event is to recognize students’ passion, as a provision in planning their future careers. By attending this seminar, it is hoped that students and parents will gain knowledge and understanding about the importance of knowing oneself, especially the passion in each child, so that parents can support their children to know themselves and achieve their potential optimally. This seminar received good appreciation from students, parents, and teachers. After this seminar took place, there were students and parents who did career counseling to help students planning their career.



ABSTRAK:

Passion merupakan gairah atau hasrat yang kuat ada dalam diri seseorang untuk melakukan kegiatan atau aktivitas yang disukainya. Pengetahuan mengenai passion di dalam diri setiap orang, perlu dipahami dengan sungguh-sungguh, agar orang tersebut dapat menemukan kebermaknaan di dalam hidupnya. Ketika seseorang menjalankan pekerjaannya atau aktivitas yang ditekuninya sesuai dengan passion-nya, maka orang tersebut akan merasakan dorongan yang besar untuk terus berusaha dan berkarya dengan lebih baik lagi. Dengan demikian, hal ini penting dipahami oleh setiap orang, khususnya peserta didik yang sedang merencanakan karir ke depan. Seminar tentang “Memahami Pentingnya Passion dalam Hidup” ini diberikan kepada siswa dan orang tua siswa SMP dan SMA X di Jakarta, dengan tujuan agar mereka dapat mengenal passion mereka, sebagai bekal dalam perencanaan karir mereka pada masa yang akan datang. Dengan mengikuti seminar, diharapkan siswa dan orang tua siswa mendapatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman mengenai pentingnya mengenal diri, terutama passion dalam diri setiap anak, sehingga akhirnya orang tua dapat mendukung anak mengenal dirinya dan mencapai potensi dirinya secara optimal. Seminar ini mendapatkan apresiasi yang baik dari siswa, orang tua, maupun guru-guru dari sekolah X, bahkan terdapat siswa dan orang tua yang melakukan konseling jurusan setelah acara seminar berlangsung, untuk membantu siswa lebih memantapkan dalam perencanaan karirnya.
