WORK-LIFE BALANCE SEBAGAI PREDIKTOR BURNOUT PADA SALES DI PT X

Abstract
This study aims to determine work-life balance as a predictor of burnout in sales at PT X. Further analysis on each dimension of work-life balance showed that three dimensions of WLB predicted BO, while the PLEW dimension did not significantly predict BO. Work-life balance is defined as an individual's effort to achieve a healthy balance between work duties and aspects of personal life. Burnout is identified as a multidimensional condition, with fatigue considered as its main feature. The research method was a quantitative non-experimental approach. The study participants consisted of 263 sales employees in a property company in Indonesia, who were selected using a non-probability sampling technique, namely Convenience sampling. The research instrument included the use of Work/Nonwork Interference and Enhancement, which was developed by Fisher et al. (2009) and has been adapted into Indonesian by Gunawan et al. (2019) to measure work-life balance. Meanwhile, burnout was measured using the second version of the Burnout Assessment Tool (BAT), which was developed by Schaufeli et al. (2020) and translated by Christina et al. (2022), with assistance from the supervisor. The results showed a negative and significant influence between work-life balance and burnout (rs = 0.991, p < 0.01). It can be concluded that work-life balance can predict the emergence of burnout behavior in employees, the higher the work-life balance, the lower the burnout behavior, and vice versa. Discussion and suggestions will be discussed further in the article.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji work-life balance sebagai prediktor terhadap burnout pada sales di PT X. Analisis lebih lanjut pada setiap dimensi work-life balance menunjukkan bahwa tiga dimensi WLB memprediksi BO, sedangkan dimensi PLEW tidak memprediksi BO secara signifikan. Work-life balance diartikan sebagai usaha individu dalam mencapai keseimbangan yang sehat antara tugas pekerjaan dan aspek-aspek kehidupan pribadi. Burnout diidentifikasi sebagai suatu kondisi multidimensi, dengan kelelahan dianggap sebagai ciri utamanya. Metode penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif non-eksperimental. Partisipan penelitian terdiri dari 263 karyawan penjualan di sebuah perusahaan properti di Indonesia, yang dipilih menggunakan teknik non-probability sampling, yaitu Convenience sampling. Instrumen penelitian mencakup penggunaan Work/Nonwork Interference and Enhancement, yang dikembangkan oleh Fisher et al. (2009) dan telah diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia oleh Gunawan et al. (2019) untuk mengukur work-life balance. Sedangkan burnout diukur menggunakan Burnout Assessment Tool (BAT) versi kedua, yang dikembangkan oleh Schaufeli et al. (2020) dan diterjemahkan oleh Christina et al. (2022), dengan bantuan dari dosen pembimbing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh negatif dan signifikan antara work-life balance dan burnout (rs = 0,991, p < 0,01). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa work-life balance dapat memprediksi munculnya perilaku burnout pada karyawan, semakin tinggi work-life balance maka akan semakin rendah perilaku burnout, dan sebaliknya.
