Abstract

Police are a profession that has quite heavy work demands and feels burdened by their work. The demands of police work can lead to prolonged fatigue risks due to insufficient time for rest. The conditions experienced by the police affect work-life balance with difficulty dividing work and personal roles. Many studies indicate a low work-life balance among police officers. This imbalance is caused by long and excessive working hours. A low work-life balance can have negative impacts on both their mental and physical health. The aim of this research is to identify factors that influence work-life balance in the police using the scoping review method. The article search used databases from Spingerlink, APA, DOAJ, Garuda, Science Direct, and Sage Journals with research limitations from publications published between 2013-2023 years. The keywords used are "work-life balance" AND "police", "work-life balance" AND "police", and "work-life balance" AND "police". The result was nine articles used for analysis, consisting of seven articles with a quantitative research design and two articles with a qualitative research design. The results of this study summarize findings regarding factors that influence work-life balance, namely work shifts, short hours, emotional intelligence, organizational/family/social support, sleep quality, and workload. A high work-life balance can help police officers solve problems, influence performance, and control their work and life roles.

Banyak studi yang menunjukkan rendahnya work life balance polisi. Kata kunci yang digunakan yaitu “work-life balance” AND “police”, “work-life balance” AND “polisi”, dan “keseimbangan kehidupan kerja” AND “polisi”.
