Abstract

Every job has its own pressures and challenges, including physiotherapists who are health workers who help other people to recover but are prone to burnout. The author is interested in finding out what are the factors or impacts of burnout in physiotherapists and what preventive steps can be taken to minimize burnout in physiotherapists. Researchers use the scoping review method with the proposed guidelines and will be carried out according to the PRISMA-ScR methodology. The factors causing burnout in the research results include socio-demographic, organizational and personal aspects. Apart from that, there are also journal articles that discuss the relationship between burnout and other psychological variables, namely depression, anxiety and stress. In discussing impacts, there are internal impacts (for physiotherapists) and also external impacts (for working institutions or patients). Preventive actions that can prevent burnout in the physiotherapist profession include solutions for developing coping strategies, having a support system, and also preventive actions that can be carried out by health institutions. Based on the results of the discussion above, it can be concluded that burnout has many good causal factors that come from personal, socio-demographic and also from the work of the physiotherapist itself. However, it can be seen that the most dominant dimension of burnout experienced by physiotherapists is the emotional exhaustion dimension. Burnout also has a negative impact on both individual physiotherapists and patients who receive services, so it is important for physiotherapists to know themselves when they have to face problems, as a form of preventive action against burnout.
