HUBUNGAN PSYCHOLOGICAL EMPOWERMENT DENGAN WORK-LIFE BALANCE PADA IBU YANG BEKERJA WFO

Abstract

This research aims to find the relationship between psychological empowerment and work balance in mothers who work from the office. Work-life balance is referred to as the balance of individuals in playing a role and responsibility in work and personal life outside of work that is carried out simultaneously without sacrificing one or prioritizing one of them. Psychological empowerment plays a role when workers feel that they have control, so that workers feel able to do their jobs (Sivalogathasan, 2011; Spreitzer, 1995). The quantitative correlational method was used in this study. Sampling using a simple random sampling technique through a questionnaire in the form of a google form, with a total of 104 mothers with an age range of 26-45 who work from the office. The measuring instruments used are the Psychological Empowerment Questionnaire (PEQ) containing 12 items proposed by (Spreitzer, 1995) and the Work Life Balance Scale containing 17 items proposed by (Fisher et al., 2009). The results of statistical data analysis show if there is no significant relationship between work-life balance variables and psychological empowerment variables. Then, the correlation coefficient in statistical data shows that psychological empowerment has a negative direction, which means that if psychological empowerment goes down, work-life balance goes up, and vice versa.


Riset ini bertujuan untuk mencari hubungan antara pemberdayaan psikologis dan keseimbangan kerja pada ibu yang bekerja dari kantor. Work-life balance disebut sebagai keseimbangan individu dalam berperan dan bertanggung jawab dalam pekerjaan dan kehidupan pribadi diluar pekerjaan yang dijalankan secara bersamaan tanpa mengorbankan salah satu ataupun mengutamakan salah satunya. Psychological empowerment  berperan ketika pekerja merasa bahwa dirinya mempunyai pengendalian, sehingga pekerja merasa mampu untuk melakukan pekerjaannya (Sivalogathasan, 2011; Spreitzer, 1995). Metode korelasional kuantitatif digunakan dalam riset ini. Pengambilan sampling memakai teknik simple random sampling melalui kuesioner yang berbentuk google form, dengan jumlah 104 orang ibu dengan rentang umur 26-45 yang bekerja dari kantor. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Psychological Empowerment Questionnaire (PEQ) berisi 12 item yang dikemukakan oleh (Spreitzer, 1995) dan Work Life Balance Scale berisi 17 item yang dikemukakan oleh (Fisher et al., 2009). Hasil analisis data statistik menampilkan jika tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara variabel work-life balance dengan variabel psychological empowerment. Kemudian, angka korelasi koefisien pada data statistik menunjukan bahwa psychological empowerment memiliki arah negatif, yang berarti jika psychological empowerment turun maka work-life balance naik, dan berlaku sebaliknya.
