Emotional Intelligence, Risk Aversion, External Locus of Control, Financial Literacy Serta Demografi Sebagai Prediktor Risky Investment Intention

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine whether 1) emotional intelligence can predict risky investment intention; 2) risk aversion can predict risky investment intention; 3) external locus of control can predict risky investment intention; 4) financial literacy can predict risky investment intention; 5) demographic can predict risky investment intention; 6) financial literacy moderates the relation between external locus of control and risky investment intention. Sample was collected by purposive sampling method with total amount 189 respondents in Jakarta and analyzed with SmartPLS 3.2.7. The result of this study show that emotional intelligence, risk aversion and external locus of control have significant effect to risky investment intention. On the contrary, financial literacy and demographic have no significant effect. While financial literacy does not have significant moderating effect on the relationship of external locus of control and risky investment intention.



Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis apakah 1) kecerdasan emosional dapat memprediksi niat investasi berisiko; 2) sikap menghindari risiko dapat memprediksi niat investasi berisiko; 3) lokus kendali eksternal dapat memprediksi niat investasi berisiko; 4) literasi keuangan dapat memprediksi niat investasi berisiko; 5) demografi dapat memprediksi niat investasi berisiko; 6) pengetahuan keuangan memoderasi hubungan lokus kendali eksternal dengan niat investasi berisiko. Sampel diperoleh dengan metode purposive sampling dengan total 189 responden di Jakarta dan dianalisa dengan SmartPLS 3.2.7. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional, sikap menghindari risiko dan lokus kendali eksternal memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap niat investasi berisiko. Sedangkan, literasi keuangan dan demografi tidak memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan. Sementara, literasi keuangan tidak memiliki efek moderasi yang signifikan dalam hubungan lokus kendali eksternal dengan niat investasi berisiko.
