REGENERATIF GAME HUB DENGAN KONSEP DIGITAL LANSKAP ARSITEKTUR DI JAKARTA SELATAN
Main Article Content
Abstract
The rapid growth of the Indonesian gaming industry shows significant potential in the global and regional gaming markets. Despite this growth, the issue of limited game development facilities remains significant, particularly in Jakarta. The lack of spaces for collaboration, research, incubation, and public facilities has led to the stagnation. This might harm the sustainability of the community, decreasing the competitiveness of local creators and increasing dependence on foreign ecosystems. The purpose is to develop game facilities from an architectural perspective through a regenerative approach and to shift the societal paradigm towards games. The methods used are qualitative and descriptive. The research steps include (1) redefining games as a medium that goes beyond play, (2) developing the concept of a digital architectural landscape as a hybrid space, and (3) regenerating game hubs as community platforms and innovation centers. The research prioritizes the creation of city-scale gaming facilities that emphasize regenerative values and sustainability in local game development. Findings include the disparity in the number of facilities and users, the underestimated gaming paradigm, and the potential of objects as physical containers for virtual spaces using the concept of a digital architectural landscape. The novelty target of a gaming facility that can maintain the balance of the digital and physical worlds by integrating both elements to create an interactive space and an active community.
