KREATIVITAS PADA MAHASISWA: APAKAH DIPENGARUHI OLEH PENGGUNAAN MEDIA SOSIAL DAN CREATIVE SELF-EFFICACY?

Abstract
Untuk meningkatkan daya saing bangsa, diperlukan pendidikan tinggi yang mampu menghasilkan individu yang
kreatif. Karena itu, menjadi hal yang urgen untuk meneliti faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat kreativitas
tersebut. Penelitian sebelumnya telah menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara penggunaan media sosial
dan kreativitas. Namun, penelitian yang mengeksplorasi mengenai mekanisme yang menjelaskan hubungan tersebut
masih terbatas. Creative self-efficacy, atau kepercayaan diri seseorang terkait kapasitasnya untuk menjadi kreatif,
dapat menjadi salah satu variabel yang menjelaskan hubungan kedua variabel tersebut. Untuk itu, dilakukan penelitian
ini yang bertujuan menguji peran creative self-efficacy sebagai mediator dalam peran penggunaan media sosial
terhadap kreativitas pada mahasiswa. Metode penelitian ini merupakan kuantitatif non-eksperimental dengan sampel
369 mahasiswa perguruan tinggi. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan metode convenience sampling melalui
penyebaran kuesioner kepada mahasiswa S1 pada suatu fakultas psikologi di Jakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan
bahwa penggunaan media sosial berperan positif terhadap kreativitas pada mahasiswa dan dimediasi oleh creative
self-efficacy. Peran mediasi creative self-efficacy bersifat parsial pada peran penggunaan media sosial terhadap
kreativitas untuk kegiatan perkuliahan dan bersifat penuh pada ideasi kreatif umum. Disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan
media sosial untuk memuaskan kebutuhan sosial, kognitif, dan hedonik dapat meningkatkan creative self-efficacy,
selanjutnya meningkatkan kreativitas pada mahasiswa. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, disarankan, pengembangan
intervensi yang memanfaatkan creative self-efficacy dan penggunaan media sosial di kalangan mahasiswa untuk
meningkatkan kreativitas.
