PENGABDIAN MASYARAKAT REMAJA: RETAIL THERAPY UNTUK MENUMBUHKAN SUBJECTIVE WELL BEING REMAJA

Abstract

The main problem faced by teenagers is their anxiety related to shopping behaviour  in  an attempt to fulfill their daily needs, making it difficult for them to concentrate on their studies at school. They are unable to learn and master the subject matter properly. This is because  the main task of a student is to study in order to achieve their dreams. Therefore, uncontrolled shopping behaviour must be properly addressed. Retail therapy is a positive activity that is considered a solution to overcome shopping behaviour problems in order to achieve happiness in the lives of adolescents. The community service activity was attended by 24 adolescents aged 15-18 years. The implementation method used a pre-test and post-test one group design. Data was collected using a subjective well-being questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used t-tests. The results of the data analysis showed that the pre-test average (72.8) was higher than the post-test average (81). This means that the implementation of retail therapy was able to foster subjective well-being in adolescents. 


 


ABSTRAK


Masalah utama yang dihadapi oleh remaja ialah kegundah-gulanaan remaja terkait dengan perilaku berbelanja  yang  berusaha untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup, sehingga membuat mereka sulit untuk berkonsentrasi dalam kegiatan belajar di sekolah. Mereka tidak dapat belajar untuk menguasai materi pelajaran dengan baik. Karena  tugas utama seorang pelajar adalah belajar agar dapat mencapai cita-citanya. Karena itu pula, hal perilaku berbelanja yang tidak terkendali tersebut harus dapat diatasi dengan baik.  Pemberian retail therapy merupakan kegiatan positif yang dianggap menjadi sebuah solusi untuk mengatasi persoalan perilaku berbelanja demi mewujudkan kebahagiaan hidup remaja. Kegiatan pengabdian Masyarakat diikuti oleh peserta yang  terdiri dari 24 orang remaja dengan rentang usia 15-18 tahun. Metode pelaksanaan dengan menggunakan desain pre-test and post-test one group. Pengambilan data dengan kuesioner subjective weel-being. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan t-test. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa rerata pre-test  (72,8) > nilai rerata post-test (81). Artinya pelaksanaan retail therapy mampu menumbuhkan subjective well-being pada remaja.
