Abstract

ABSTRACT


Play activities are very important in children’s education in Sunday School, with creative methods such as Bible story pop-up posters that help children understand Christian values. The story of Hannah was chosen because it teaches patience, perseverance, faith, and obedience to God. The role of Visual Communication Design is significant in designing attractive and educational pop-up posters, using effective visual communication strategies to ensure an appropriate and engaging approach for children. Previous research on interactive storybooks of David and the character Ruth shows that interactive visual approaches enhance children’s engagement and understanding. The common issue faced is the need to create play activities that highlight Bible stories with God as the central figure. The implementation method used in this program is participatory and collaborative, chosen to ensure that all parties are actively involved in the planning and preparation process, pop-up poster design, production and implementation. The result of this activity is the creation of a Hannah story pop-up poster, which provides greater visual appeal and a deeper interactive experience. Play activities support healthy brain development and build social relationships, while visual communication design plays a crucial role in creating engaging and effective educational materials. Effective visual communication strategies involve the use of bright colours, attractive illustrations, and interactive elements to enhance children’s engagement. Pop-up posters can provide a dynamic and interactive visual experience, enhancing children’s memory and understanding.

Aktivitas bermain sangat penting dalam pendidikan anak-anak di sekolah minggu, dengan metode kreatif seperti poster pop-up cerita Alkitab yang membantu anak-anak memahami nilai-nilai kristiani. Kisah Hana dipilih karena mengajarkan kesabaran, ketekunan, iman, dan ketaatan kepada Tuhan. Peran desain komunikasi visual cukup besar dalam merancang poster pop-up yang menarik dan edukatif, menggunakan strategi komunikasi visual yang efektif untuk memastikan pendekatan yang sesuai dan menarik bagi anak-anak. Penelitian sebelumnya tentang buku cerita interaktif Daud dan karakter Rut menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan visual interaktif meningkatkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman anak-anak. Permasalahan yang seringkali dihadapi adalah kebutuhan untuk membuat aktivitas bermain yang mengangkat cerita Alkitab dengan menempatkan Tuhan sebagai pusat cerita. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan dalam program ini adalah metode partisipatif dan kolaboratif. Metode ini dipilih untuk memastikan bahwa semua pihak terlibat aktif dalam proses perencanaan dan persiapan, perancangan poster pop-up, dan produksi dan implementasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah menghasilkan poster pop-up cerita Hana, yang memberikan daya tarik visual dan pengalaman interaktif yang mendalam. Aktivitas bermain mendukung perkembangan otak yang sehat dan membangun hubungan sosial, sementara desain komunikasi visual memainkan peran penting dalam menciptakan materi pendidikan yang menarik dan efektif. Strategi komunikasi visual yang efektif melibatkan penggunaan warna cerah, ilustrasi menarik, dan elemen interaktif untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan anak-anak. Poster pop-up bisa memberikan pengalaman visual dinamis dan interaktif, meningkatkan daya ingat dan pemahaman anak-anak.
