PENERAPAN KEGIATAN MENYANYI UNTUK MENGEMBANGKAN KONSEP DIRI ANAK PRA-SEKOLAH

Abstract

Self-concept is an important term related to the way a person views all aspects of one's own life (physical, cognitive, socio-emotional, and academic aspects. Many children still do not have a positive self-concept due to the influence of a bad family environment, the result is they find it difficult to develop and actualize themselves well in the future.On this basis, community service (PKM) aims to grow and develop the self-concept of pre-school children through singing activities.PKM activities involve kindergarten students Al Hidayah, South Jakarta, using a one group pre-test – post test experimental approach Singing activities using songs specifically designed for the development of self-concept in pre-school children Collecting data using a self-concept questionnaire and given before ( pre-test) and after giving singing activities for 6 meetings (Post-test).Data analysis used the mean test. The results found that singing activities are effective for developing self-concept in pre-school children. Previously, they thought of themselves as children who were ugly, stupid, insecure and lazy. However, after the post-test, they considered themselves as children who were able-bodied, smart, sociable, and diligent.

Konsep diri merupakan istilah penting yang terkait dengan cara seseorang memandang terhadap seluruh aspek kehidupan diri-sendiri (aspek fisik, kognitif, sosio-emosional, dan akademik. Banyak anak yang masih belum memiliki konsep diri yang positif karena pengaruh lingkungan keluarga yang tidak baik, akibatnya mereka sulit utuk mengembangkan dan mengaktualisasikan diri dengan baik di masa depan. Atas dasar tersebut, maka pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) bertujuan untuk menumbuh-kembangkan konsep diri anak-anak pra-sekolah melalui kegiatan menyanyi. Kegiatan PKM melibatkan anak-anak siswa TK Al Hidayah Jakarta Selatan, dengan menggunakan pendekatan eksperimen one group pre-test – post test. Kegiatan menyanyi dengan menggunakan lagu-lagu yang dirancang khusus untuk pengembangan konsep diri pada anak-anak pra-sekolah.  Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan kuesioner konsep diri dan diberikan sebelum (pre-test) dan sesudah pemberian kegiatan menyanyi sebanyak 6 kali pertemuan (Post-test). Analisis data dengan menggunakan uji rerata. Hasilnya ditemukan bahwa kegiatan menyanyi efektif untuk menumbuh-kembangkan konsep diri pada anak-anak pra-sekolah. Sebelumnya, mereka menganggap diri sebagai anak yang bertubuh jelek, bodoh, minder bergaul dan malas. Namun setelah post-test, mereka menganggap diri sebagai anak yang berbadan sehat, pintar, pintar bergaul, dan rajin.
