PENGARUH TEKANAN PENGEPRESAN TERHADAP KEKUATAN GESER TEKAN DAN BENDING KOMPOSIT LIMBAH KERTAS HVSSEKAM PADI

Abstract


The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of pressing pressure on the MOR, MOE and shear press
strength of the waste HVS paper-rice husks composite. Composites material was made from waste HVS paper
and rice husks. The composite was produced by using a press mold method for 10 minutes of pressing time. The
composition of composite were 10 % of PVAc, 70 % of waste HVS paper and 20 % of rice husks (w/w). The
variation of pressing pressure were determined at 0.79 MPa, 1.18 MPa, 1.58 MPa and 1.97 MPa. The
specimens were conducted to Universal Testing Machine for bending dan shear press tests referring to ASTM D-
1037. The fracture surface of the specimens were obtained by using SEM (scanning electron microscopy).
The increasing of pressing pressure increased the surface bonding between biofiber of waste HVS paper dan rice
husks particles. The increasing of pressing pressure at 1,97 MPa increased MOR (108.08%), MOE (92.22%)
and shear press strength (85.09%) to that specimens at 0.79 MPa of pressing pressure.
