In fact, there are still teachers who don’t reflect that teachers have a high teaching motivation. One of the factors that can increase the teachers’ teaching motivation is the teacher efficacy. Teacher efficacy is a teacher’s belief in their ability to carry out their duties. This study aims to determine the influence of teacher efficacy on junior high school teachers’ teaching motivation. The type of this research is quantitative research. The data collected used the convenience sampling techniques. Characteristics of the participants in this research are (a) teachers who teach in junior high schools, (b) teaching in public or private schools, (c) aged 20-59 years, (d) male or female, and (e) having a civil servant or non-civil servant status. The measurement tools used in this research are the Teachers’ Sense of Efficacy Scale and the Autonomous Motivation for Teaching Scale. Participants involved in this research are 237 junior high school teachers in Jakarta. The results of this research show that there is a positive and significant relationship between teacher efficacy and the teaching motivation of junior high school teachers, with a value of r = 318. This research found that there is a 10.1% effect of teacher efficacy on junior high school teachers’ teaching motivation. In addition, this research found that there are differences in teacher efficacy based on employment status and the last level of education that teachers have.
Fadia Putri Dianti, Roswiyani Roswiyani Copyright (c) 2023 Provitae: Jurnal Psikologi Pendidikan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://journal.untar.ac.id/index.php/provitae/article/view/26699 Wed, 11 Oct 2023 00:00:00 +0000 HUBUNGAN STRES KERJA DENGAN KESEJAHTERAAN PSIKOLOGIS GURU https://journal.untar.ac.id/index.php/provitae/article/view/26700
The background of this research is to see that teaching is a profession with a high level of stress. When a teacher has a high level of stress, this will affect the individual teacher's well-being. This study aims to see whether there is a relationship between work stress and the psychological teacher's well-being. This research is a quantitative study using a purposive sampling technique, with a survey method using a questionnaire and g-form. The questionnaires used were the Job Stress Scale by Parker & Decotiis (1983) and Ryff's Psychological Well Being Scale by Ryff (1995). This study involved 385 teacher participants aged 21 to 60 years. This research was conducted for approximately 4 months starting from September 2022 to December 2022. The results of the correlation test using the Pearson Correlation Test, show that there is a negative relationship between work stress and psychological well-being. Negative work relationship means, the higher the teacher stress, the lower the teacher's psychological well-being.
Flaviani Nathania Leonardi, Niken Widi Astuti Copyright (c) 2023 Provitae: Jurnal Psikologi Pendidikan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://journal.untar.ac.id/index.php/provitae/article/view/26700 Wed, 11 Oct 2023 00:00:00 +0000 HUBUNGAN ANTARA OPTIMISME DENGAN ADAPTABILITAS KARIR PADA MAHASISWA GENERASI Z https://journal.untar.ac.id/index.php/provitae/article/view/26701
This study aims to determine the relationship between optimism and career adaptability in Generation Z students. There were 102 subjects in the study with the criteria of active students, aged 18- 22 years selected using purposive sampling method. Two scales used in this research were the Career Adapt-Adaptability Scale (CAAS) and the optimism scale. Data analyzed using Pearson product-moment shows a significant positive correlation between optimism and career adaptability among Generation Z students (r =0.553 p < 0.001). The coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.306, indicating that the optimism variable contributes a 30.6% variance in career adaptability. Therefore, higher education needs to foster optimism in students to improve their adaptation to changing circumstances that may affect their future careers.
Isma Shafira Putri, Reny Yuniasanti Copyright (c) 2023 Provitae: Jurnal Psikologi Pendidikan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://journal.untar.ac.id/index.php/provitae/article/view/26701 Wed, 11 Oct 2023 00:00:00 +0000 PENGARUH MODAL PSIKOLOGIS TERHADAP ACADEMIC ENGAGEMENT (STUDI PADA MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS X) https://journal.untar.ac.id/index.php/provitae/article/view/26702
Education is a very important thing at this time. During their education, of course, students are expected to have adequate knowledge and abilities as measured by their academic achievements. In many previous studies, it was concluded that academic achievement is influenced by various factors, one of which is academic engagement. There are several personal factors that can affect academic engagement, such as self-efficacy, hope, and optimism. These factors are part of psychological capital. Based on these references, this study was conducted to determine the impact of psychological capital on academic engagement among students of University X. This research is a quantitative study. Data collection is carried out by distributing questionnaires. The questionnaires used were the Psychological Capital Questionnaire and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale-Student. A total of 312 participants with an age range of 18 years to 24 years were involved in this study. Based on the results of the regression analysis between psychological capital and academic engagement, the results obtained are F (1.310) = 86.997, p = 0.000, and R2 = 0.219. This shows that there is a significant impact of psychological capital while the contribution is 21.9% on the academic engagement of the students of University X.
Yohanes Crisostomus, Kiky D.H. With many tasks that students have, it can increase the tendency of delaying behavior to carry out other activities that students prefer. An activity that is highly liked by an individual is called Passion. Students tend to delay their assignments by doing other activities they like (for example playing games). This study discusses the role of passion that students have for an activity on academic procrastination behavior in students. The purpose of this study is to examine how big the role of passion is in academic procrastination. The target participants are students studying at universities in Jakarta. The research method used is non-experimental with a correlational type. The number of participants obtained from this study was 230 students spread across various universities in Jakarta using the convenience sampling method. The measuring instruments used in this study were the Passion Scale and the Academic Procrastination Scale. Regression analysis using SPSS version 26.0 shows that passion has a role of 2.5% (r = 0.159 / sig. = 0.016) in academic procrastination. The regression analysis between obsessive passion (OP) and academic procrastination shows that OP has a role of 5.5% (r = 0.235 / sig. = 0.000) on academic procrastination.
Virgie Nathania, Monika Monika Copyright (c) 2023 Provitae: Jurnal Psikologi Pendidikan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://journal.untar.ac.id/index.php/provitae/article/view/26703 Wed, 11 Oct 2023 00:00:00 +0000 PENGARUH ACADEMIC PEER SUPPORT TERHADAP SCHOOL ENGAGEMENT PADA SISWA SMP “X” DI BANDUNG https://journal.untar.ac.id/index.php/provitae/article/view/26704
This study aims to determine the effect of the academic peer support dimension on school engagement at SMP "X" in Bandung. The subjects in this study were the entire population of SMP "X" students with a total of 160 students out of 171 students (there were 4 students who were not willing and 7 students not present. The measuring tool used is Academic Peer Support using the PFASS (Perceived Peer/Friend Academic Support Scale) measuring tool compiled by Jennifer Chen (2005) based on Jennifer Chen`s theory and has been translated by researchers, consisting of 25 items with a reliability of 0.744. The School Engagement measuring tool was developed by Alvin Gultom (2020) based on Friedricks' theory (2004), consisting of 27 items with a reliability of 0.722. This research method uses the effect method which is analyzed by linear regression test using the SPSS 21.0 Version Program. Based on data processing, the results showed that there was a significant influence on the dimensions of academic peer support on school engagement (F = 11,500, R2 = 22.9%; p <0.05), namely interpersonal support (ß= 0.22 , p > 0.05), cognitive support (ß = 0.646, p < 0.05), emotional support (ß = 0.243 , p > 0.05) and instrumental support (ß = 0.243, p > 0.05). Suggestions from researchers are facilitating the occurrence of cognitive support from peers to other fellow students. Cognitive support can be obtained by involving students who excel in groups to support students who have learning difficulties.
Theresa Diana Putri Biantoro, Jane Savitri Copyright (c) 2023 Provitae: Jurnal Psikologi Pendidikan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://journal.untar.ac.id/index.php/provitae/article/view/26704 Wed, 11 Oct 2023 00:00:00 +0000 GAMBARAN STRES PADA MAHASISWA MAGANG DI JABODETABEK https://journal.untar.ac.id/index.php/provitae/article/view/26705
The number of students who continue to increase causes students to have to better prepare themselves so that they are ready to find work after graduating from college. One of the efforts to prepare students is to carry out internship activities. Internship activities aim to improve abilities and competencies through direct practice in the field. Internship activities can also improve the work readiness of students. However, students who carry out internships have greater demands than students in general. Unmanageable demands can cause students to experience stress. This study aims to look at the description of stress on intern students in Jabodetabek. This research was conducted using a descriptive quantitative method involving 100 apprentice student participants in Jabodetabek. This study used the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) developed by Cohen et al. (1983). The results of this study were 71% of participants experienced moderate stress. The results of different tests conducted on the demographic data of gender and duration of apprenticeship showed values of 0.288 and 0.632. This value is greater than 0.05 which indicates that there is no significant difference between stress based on the demographic data. The factor that most caused the participants to experience stress was the occupational factor of 54.6%.
Christine Elisabeth Widyachandra, Vivia Lee, Zamralita Zamralita, Venesia Venesia Copyright (c) 2023 Provitae: Jurnal Psikologi Pendidikan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://journal.untar.ac.id/index.php/provitae/article/view/26705 Wed, 11 Oct 2023 00:00:00 +0000
