KUALITAS TEACHER-STUDENT RELATIONSHIP SEBAGAI PREDIKTOR KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL (STUDI PESERTA PELATIHAN PRAMUNIAGA RITEL) (Studi Peserta Pelatihan Pramuniaga Ritel)

Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran kualitas Teacher-Student Relationship (TSR) dalam memprediksi kompetensi komunikasi interpersonal. Kualitas TSR adalah kedekatan hubungan antara pengajar (tenaga pelatih) dan pelajar (peserta pelatihan) yang diindikasikan oleh receptiveness, trust, responsiveness, respect, appreciation, commitment, dan closeness. Sedangkan kompetensi komunikasi interpersonal adalah persepsi individu terhadap kemampuannya dalam mengelola hubungan interpersonal atau dalam berkomunikasi. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 86 orang yang merupakan para pramuniaga ritel yang telah menyelesaikan pelatihan berbasis kompetensi (PBK). Partisipan terdiri dari 31 laki-laki dan 55 perempuan, dengan rentang usia 19 s.d 38 tahun. Pramuniaga ritel merupakan karyawan yang bekerja di sebuah perusahaan atau toko ritel dengan tugas melayani konsumen. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Teacher-Student Quality Relationship Questionnaire (TSRQ-Q) dan International Association of Business Communicators - Communication Skill Assessment Tool (IABC-CSAT). Berdasarkan analisis Spearman Correlation dinyatakan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara kualitas TSR (Md = 6.11; Mo = 6.58) dan kompetensi komunikasi interpersonal (Md = 6.14; Mo = 6.00), rs (84) = 0.764, p < 0.01. Semakin tinggi kualitas TSR (kualitas hubungan antara peserta pelatihan dengan para tenaga pelatih), maka semakin tinggi ICC (tingkat kemampuan/keterampilan dalam komunikasi dengan orang lain). Hasil penelitian ini bermanfaat bagi para pengelola, para tenaga pelatih, dan para peserta pelatihan untuk memperhatikan pentingnya kualitas-hubungan baik antara tenaga pelatih dengan pramuniaga ritel (peserta pelatihan), dalam usaha peningkatan komunikasi interpersonal.
