MENINGKATKAN EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT PT X DENGAN VIRTUAL TALK DALAM MASA PANDEMI COVID-19

Abstract

Facing the increasingly complex development of globalization, every company is required to maximize the resources they have. Employees are one of the resources owned by the organization which is one of the factors that determine the success of the organization. Therefore the organization must be able to ensure that employees shows their engagement to the organization. Employee engagement is the extent to which employees are psychologically involved, connected, and committed to getting their work done. Activities to maintain employee engagement must always be improved and updated from time to time. The purpose of carrying out various employee engagement activities is to create a relaxed, comfortable, and intimate atmosphere. However, in a Covid-19 pandemic situation like this, it seems that it will be difficult to design activities that can attract employees to participate in employee engagement activities that span many divisions within the company. To overcome this, the PKM team wants to help PT X by designing and implementing a virtual talk as an activity to increase employee engagement. This activity took place on October 18, 2021 and was attended by 100 employees of PT X. At the end of the event, the participants stated that this activity was very interesting and hoped that similar activities would be held again in the future.

Dalam menghadapi perkembangan globalisasi yang semakin kompleks, setiap perusahaan dituntut untuk memaksimalkan sumber daya yang mereka miliki. Karyawan merupakan salah satu sumber daya yang dimiliki organisasi yang menjadi salah satu faktor yang menentukan keberhasilan organisasi. Oleh karena itu organisasi harus dapat memastikan bahwa karyawan memiliki keterikatan yang erat dengan organisasi. Keterikatan karyawan atau employee engagement merupakan sejauh mana karyawan terlibat, terhubung, dan berkomitmen secara psikologis untuk menyelesaikan pekerjaan mereka. Kegiatan untuk menjaga employee engagement harus selalu ditingkatkan dan diperbaharui dari waktu ke waktu.  Tujuan dari dilaksanakan berbagai kegiatan employee engagement adalah untuk menciptakan suasana yang rileks, nyaman, dan akrab. Namun dalam situasi pandemic Covid-19 seperti ini tampaknya akan sulit untuk merancang kegiatan yang dapat menarik minat karyawan untuk mengikuti kegiatan employee engagement yang menjangkau banyak divisi dalam perusahaan. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, tim pelaksana PKM ingin membantu PT X dengan merancang dan melaksanakan sebuah virtual talk sebagai kegiatan untuk meningkatkan employee engagement. Kegiatan ini berlangsung pada tanggal 18 Oktober 2021 dan dihadiri oleh 100 orang karyawan PT X. Di akhir acara, para peserta menyatakan bahwa kegiatan yang dilakukan ini sangat menarik dan berharap diadakan kegiatan sejenis kembali di masa yang akan datang.
