PSIKOEDUKASI MENGENAI INKLUSIVITAS UMAT BERKEBUTUHAN KHUSUS PADA GEREJA PAROKI KARAWACI ST. AGUSTINUS

Abstract

In 2022 The Archdiocese of Jakarta (KAJ) wants to more disability-friendly, which is also in line with Pope Francis' direction on the message of World Disability Day 2020. KAJ intends to try to listen more and focus on the expectations of people with special needs who are part of one body of the church. This community service aims to build awareness among the parishioners of Karawaci St. Agustinus about inclusiveness in the church so that it can reduce the stigma felt by UBK (Umat Berkebutuhan Khusus). Therefore, caregivers from UBK feel more comfortable in attending mass at church. Need assessment is done by using interviews, surveys, and discussion methods. The assessment results show a need to create inclusiveness in the parish of Karawaci St. Agustinus for UBK people and their family. An intervention plan was then aimed at the UBK family, the general public, and the church. Interventions for the general public and UBK families focus on educating with a non-training psychoeducation approach which is carried out indirectly through booklets (in the form of hard copies and e-books), Instagram reels videos, and showing a slideshow video before the mass takes place with the theme "From us. for us". Intervention to the church is carried out by informing about the sitting position for UBK and compiling a narrative to be given to the Father or the church before the mass is held. Monitoring is then done through observation and interviews with the general public and UBK.is written in Times New Roman font 10pt, 1 space. The length of abstract is between 200-250 words. Abstract is a summary of problem identifications, approaches, results and conclusions of the conducted experiment. Abstract should include the background, objectives, methods, results and conclusions in a clear and concise form and should be written in 1 (one) paragraph.

Di tahun 2022 Keuskupan Agung Jakarta (KAJ) ingin agar semakin ramah disabilitas dengan menjadikan umat berkebutuhan khusus menjadi bagian dari satu tubuh gereja, dan hal ini sesuai dengan arahan Paus Fransiskus pada pesan Hari Disabilitas Sedunia 2020. Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan bertujuan membangun awareness umat paroki Karawaci St. Agustinus mengenai inklusivitas dalam bergereja, sehingga dapat mengurangi stigma yang dirasakan umat berkebutuhan khusus (UBK) dan para caregiver-nya. Dengan demikian keluarga UBK merasa lebih nyaman dalam mengikuti misa di gereja. Need assessment dilakukan dengan metode wawancara, survei, dan diskusi. Hasil need assessment menunjukkan adanya kebutuhan untuk mewujudkan inklusivitas di paroki Karawaci St. Agustinus, baik bagi UBK maupun keluarganya. Intervensi ditujukan kepada keluarga UBK dan umat umum serta pihak gereja. Intervensi kepada umat umum dan keluarga UBK dilakukan melalui psikoedukasi non-pelatihan secara tidak langsung melalui booklet yang berbentuk hardcopy dan e-book, video Instagram-reels, dan menayangkan video slideshow sebelum misa berlangsung yang mengusung tema “Dari kita untuk kita”. Intervensi kepada pihak gereja dilakukan dengan menginformasikan posisi duduk untuk UBK dan menyusun narasi untuk diberikan kepada Romo atau pihak gereja sebelum misa dilaksanakan. Monitoring yang dilakukan melalui metode observasi dan wawancara kepada umat umum serta UBK menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dari keluarga UBK dan masyarakat umum, serta pihak gereja. UBK juga merasa lebih nyaman untuk beribadah di gereja.
