Pemahaman Mahasiswa Kedokteran tentang Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) untuk Bayi Berat Badan Lahir Rendah dan Prematur

Abstract
Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) adalah intervensi neonatal yang diakui secara global dan telah terbukti meningkatkan kesehatan bayi prematur serta bayi dengan berat badan lahir rendah, mengurangi kematian neonatal, risiko infeksi, dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan bayi serta ikatan ibu dan anak. Meskipun manfaat KMC telah terverifikasi secara ilmiah, adopsi praktik ini masih menghadapi tantangan, seperti kurangnya pemahaman di kalangan tenaga kesehatan, keterbatasan pelatihan, serta kurangnya kebijakan institusional yang mendukung penerapannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengatehui tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa kedoktran untuk meningkatkan kepatuhan implementasi praktik ini. Temuan studi ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki skor pemahaman keseluruhan 3,72 ± 0,45 dengan pemahaman yang relatif baik mengenai prinsip dasar KMC dengan skor rerata 3,90, manfaat KMC dengan skor rerata 3,39, dan implementasi KMC dengan skor rerata 3,87. Distribusi pengetahuan di antara mahasiswa bervariasi menurut tahun akademik, mahasiswa klinis (PSPD) menunjukkan pemahaman yang sedikit lebih baik daripada rekan-rekan praklinis (PSSK) (p = 0,372, PR = 1,136). Studi ini diharapkan ikut memberikan referensi dalam upaya menekankan pentingnya pemahaman dan sikap tenaga kesehatan dalam keberhasilan implementasi KMC serta perlunya pendekatan multifaset untuk meningkatkan kualitas perawatan bayi prematur.
